Scary

On our walk yesterday, a little girl (we thought she was about 6) struck up a conversation with us while waiting to cross University Avenue. No big deal, right? We thought she was with one of the other adults on the sidewalk but as we went along we saw her crossing streets and going off on her own. It occurred to us that she really was alone and wandering the streets of Provo. We decided to watch over her a little bit (thinking she was almost home) by following her at a good distance. Time goes by and she has gone miles..in a big circle...jay walking in huge intersections. We caught up with her and asked her if she was lost. She definintely was, even though she seemed confident that she would eventually find it. She let us help her as much as we could but as time went by we realized that we were never going to find her house since she didn't know the address or her phone number and was still completely turned around. So we called the police. She went with him without question and was completely brave.

We are just so grateful that we saw her and were able to help her before it got dark or something else happened. I think we were in the right place at the right time.

Yay! Good for you guys!!! I'm so glad you were there to help her... so many scary things happen to children... it's nice to hear a good story where strangers don't ALWAYS have to be bad!! You were her guardian angels, I think! :)

So I read this post yesterday...
Then, after work, my husband and I were driving and saw this little tiny boy running down the sidewalk of a SUPER busy street all alone. He was maybe 3...he was wearing a t-shirt, little swimmer pants, and no shoes. We were about to pull over, but the lady driving in front of us beat us to it.
But I thought, how random? I had just read your post on a little lost child and then we found one too!
